PROBLEMATIC ACNE

Despite being typically associated with teenagers, many adults struggle with problematic or late on-set acne. Acne develops when the sebaceous glands accumulate excess oil, dirt, dead skin and other debris. This results in clogged and inflamed pores full of bacteria.

In mild forms of acne, whiteheads, blackheads and raised red blemishes may appear. In more severe cases, cysts and inflamed, larger bumps may form resulting in scarring texture changes in the skin. Acne can be found anywhere on the body but is most commonly seen on the face, chest and back.

There are a number of factors that may cause or exacerbate acne such as hormonal imbalances, stress, sleep and nutrition. In order to holistically address the cause of your acne and provide a comprehensive treatment plan, we encourage patients to book a complimentary consultation with our team.
