Botox can help with migraines, excessive sweating and TMJ

A common misconception is that Botox is simply a cosmetic enhancer, used to treat fine lines and wrinkles on the face. However, LUXE Medical Spa and Laser goes beyond cosmetic uses for Botox, offering treatment for migraines, jaw tension and TMJ disorders, or hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Our expertly-trained LUXE injector team can offer medical alternatives to treat these common issues through the use of targeted and strategic Botox injections.

Botox for headaches and migraines

If you suffer from chronic migraines or headaches, we encourage you to speak with your family doctor or book a consultation with our Nurse Practitioner at LUXE Medical Spa and Laser.

Botox treatments for headaches involve a series of several injections of Botox around your head and neck every 12 weeks to help prevent migraine headaches or reduce the severity of your headache symptoms. Clients should see results 2 to 3 weeks after their first treatment, with many of our clients reporting a significant reduction in their number of headaches and the severity of their migraine symptoms.

At LUXE Medical Spa, we are proud to offer medically-supervised treatment to our patients.

BOTOX for TMJ disorder is performed right here at LUXE Medical Spa and Laser. One of our highly-trained injectors will inject Botox to help relax the jaw and address common symptoms of TMJ disorder, such as jaw tension headaches caused by teeth grinding and, in very severe cases, lockjaw. Patients can expect to feel a slight pinch at the injection site, with symptoms gradually relieving over several days as the body metabolizes the injection. Botox injections to address jaw tension and TMJ disorder require follow-ups to ensure a more permanent solution to chronic pain. Your treatment needs and the number of injections needed may vary, so it is best to speak to one of our nurses at LUXE Medical Spa and Laser to learn what options might be best for you.

Botox for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

Hyperhidrosis, more commonly known as excessive sweating, is a condition where problematic sweating impacts a person's overall quality of life. This condition generally affects areas like the scalp, underarms, hands, feet, and groin area. Or, it can be focal.  Botox injections are an incredibly effective treatment for focal hyperhidrosis whereby small, targeted areas of the body are injected with Botox to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating. The injections work to block the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. With these treatments, patients experienced a significant reduction in sweating. Typically, patients require treatments every four to six months, as the nerves regenerate; however, over time, patients often report being able to go longer between treatments.
