5 facts you should know about laser hair removal

One treatment is great, but you’ll need a series of sessions

First and foremost, one of the most common misconceptions is that laser hair removal is a one-time treatment. In fact, it may take between six to eight treatments to see the full effects of the Diolaze XL laser hair removal. With each treatment, you will see a reduction in overall hair growth and thickness. We encourage our clients to be prepared for 6-8 sessions and to work with their laser technicians to assess the results as they go. 

Arrive to each session freshly shaved, with no tan and no self-tanner applied

For your appointment, please shave the treatment area in advance. Avoid waxing or plucking beforehand, as the laser needs the hair follicle intact to effectively target and disable it—removing hair from the root prevents the treatment from working properly.

If you’ve had recent sun exposure (including tanning beds) or applied self-tanner, your session may need to be rescheduled for safety. At each visit, your technician will assess your skin tone and adjust the settings to ensure your treatment is both safe and effective.

We can’t treat over tattoos

Laser hair removal cannot be done on areas with tattoos. Our patients will prepare for tattoos by doing a series of hair removal beforehand. Spring, fall and winter are ideal times to start your hair removal journey!

We also highly recommend that patients avoid retinol before a treatment. We ask that you avoid exercise and hot showers immediately following their appointment as the increase in body temperature can lead to irritation. 

It doesn’t really hurt!
